The AOPA “You Can Fly!” Program

The AOPA “You Can Fly!” High School Curriculum

The AOPA You Can Fly! Initiative allows your student to follow their curiosities about aviation and aerospace. Students in the program are not required to fly a plane, but can find opportunities outside of their school to pursue their Private Pilot License.

The AOPA You Can Fly! Initiative provides students the opportunity to explore the exciting field of aviation. While doing so, the students will be prepared for either their FAA Written Pilots Test, or the FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Assessment. Students who pass the latter assessment are awarded their UAS Commercial Operator’s License. The most important aspect of this program is that it is free for the schools and the students to participate. The high school environment is the best time for students to explore their curiosities for aviation and determine if they truly want to pursue aviation as a career.
